Tata Motors has announced the appointment of Ranjit Yadav as President of the company’s Passenger Car Business Unit (PCBU). The company has also appointed Neeraj Garg as Vice-President – Commercial for PCBU, and the movement of the incumbent Vice President – Commercial, PCBU, R. Ramakrishnan, to a corresponding role for its Commercial Vehicles Business Unit (CVBU). Before joining Tata Motors, Yadav was Country Head (India) for the mobile & IT businesses of Samsung India Electronics Ltd. He was previously with Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific, Philips Electronics and Pond’s India Limited. Garg joins the company from Volkswagen, where he was the Director Sales & Marketing (Volkswagen brand). He has earlier worked with Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd and Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. Commenting on the appointments, Managing Director of Tata Motors, Karl Slym, said, “Ranjit Yadav’s experience of leading a highly customer-centric business will bring in the outside-in perspective that we need to further evolve our Passenger Vehicles business. Neeraj Garg brings in significant domain understanding of the Indian car space and its competitive dynamics. We are happy that they will spearhead our aggressive plans in the high-potential market that India is. We are also happy to have Ramakrishnan’s extensive commercial vehicles experience back for our CV business to retain our traditional market dominance.”
